My research draws on science studies, ethnography, and the environmental humanities to investigate how diverse knowledges about nature and sustainability are constructed, applied, and problematized. My recent research centers on the practice and epistemology of ecological reparation in Indigenous territories and on the local tensions around and against extractivism. My teaching focuses on these areas, with special emphasis on developing inter- and trans-disciplinary perspectives. I am a principal investigator at the Research Center for Integrated Disaster Risk Management (CIGIDEN) and the UC Center for Local Development.
